Palmer Method Handwriting

Palmer Method Handwriting

The palmer method is a penmanship, cursive handwriting style. It was first developed in 1900 by Austin Palmer, in the United States of America. It was quickly adapted by people in the country, and became the most popular handwriting applied and taught in the states. Lefties were taught to use their left hand in this method. The book ‘Palmer’s Guide to Business Writing” was released in 1894, written by Palmer, was a core book for explaining Palmer’s method clearly. The method won many awards, and it is still practiced and learnt today. Although Palmer’s style was replaced by printing methods, it is still loved and came back to use, where it is still practiced a lot today. The method focuses on the movement of the shoulders and arms, which general good handwriting is taught upon even now.
