Sign language is used to convey sound patterns and communication to people without using voice but actions. Remember the charades game Well a bit a tiny bit similar, its acting out word phrases with your body actions (in this case hand signs) to communicate messages or a message. A little more developed then charades though, Sign language if a form of communication aimed at people with no or very little hearing ability, and is as sufficient as speaking and writing.

Why is she talking about sign language on a calligraphy site you ask? Well little did you know that Sign language alphabets are unique and classifies as beautiful writing also. Just like hieroglyphs and dingbats, they convey language using symbols and images if on paper. People who have no hearing or very little will benefit in this, as well as people appreciating sign language.

Tip:

you could make up your very own alphabet and invent a special calligraphy style for it too! why not? it could be the new hieroglyphs. Well your right lets not get too ahead of our selves. Ha ha.
