Tattoo Calligraphy
Tattoo Calligraphy is gaining acceptance among the youth in a big way. If you want to have a funky looking image on your arm, leg, neck or waist then why not go for a calligraphic one which looks elegant as well as conveys a well thought out message.
What is a Tattoo?
I seriously did want to save myself from the embarrassment of writing this paragraph explaining what exactly a tattoo means. But then there are some visitors who love calligraphy but are not aware of tattoos or any other forms of body art for that matter.
Since this website is geared towards calligraphy and not tattoos therefore I thought for the benefit of the larger audience explaining a little more about tattoos would be a prudent idea.A tattoo is an image or writing drawn on your body. This culture is gaining momentum across the world at a rapid pace and is very popular among the youth. Tattoos give us a sense of freedom of expression and I believe that is one of the main reasons why it’s appealed to the young mass.
Tattoos can be categorized into two different types depending upon the longevity of the ink used to paint it. You may have temporary tattoos drawn on your body or you may opt for permanent ones. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages that I am not getting into right now.
What is Tattoo Calligraphy?
The popularity of usage of calligraphic representations as a body art in the form is immense.Ancient calligraphic styles are extremely popular especially the ones that have deep roots in the Far East. Chinese calligraphy that is considered to be one of the finest in the world has its own loyal fan following.
Similarly calligraphic styles from Japan and India have appealed to tattoo enthusiasts and artists over the past few years.Arabic calligraphy is one of the hottest scriptures that is ruling the world in terms of popularity among tattoo designers.
Why Tattoo Calligraphy?
That’s a question that will have more than one answer, depending upon the individual.
When you get a permanent tattoo done more or less that stays with you forever. That means it is a commitment of a lifetime. Just imagine if you could get some meaning into those images or words how much sense it would make. This is what calligraphy can do for you.
An Om in Sanskrit or your name in Japanese on your arm would talk a lot about your personality.
