About Japanese names:

Japanese names are usually written in kanji which are Chinese characters. When there not written in kanji symbols they are written in the more traditional native Japanese 'Kun'yomi'. kanji symbol names express a meaning whereas names written in hiragana or katakana don't usually have a meaning. The Japanese put there surname followed by the first name and middle names are rarely given to their children. There is said to be over 100,000 diffrent Japanese surnames. There are sometimes different pronunciations to the Kenji written names. You must understand the Japanese writing and translation system in order to know how to write your name in Japanese.

For non-Japanese people, their names are usually translated to Japanese using the phonetic 'Katakana' alphabet syllabary. To write your name in Japanese calligraphy i recommend you learn how to write and read Japanese, which i will begin to show you here. If you want a quick solution there are programs you can use on the internet which allows you to translate your name into Japanese. There are also some very good books which helps to teach you how to write your name in Japanese

Japanese seals:

In Japan there a different seals. Each seals is basically just a different writing style for an alphabet group. The Japanese have two main seals; the 'inkan', used for everyday general writing, and the 'tenkoku' which is the legal writing style used for your i.d, license and bank cards etc.

Romaji:

Romaji are Roman characters which is the technique that is used to translate Japanese words in to English. Because English is not like Japanese language of syllables it is difficult to translate the characters into letters.
